Following a massive effort from our intrepid oblongeers, Bahlsen Messinos, otherwise known as the oblong Jaffa Cakes, achieved massive success at the Trafford Centre, thecentre:mk and Bluewater.

The shopping centre sampling activity lasted for three consecutive weekends and brought with it some truly remarkable results, which could change the shape of the Jaffa Cake world!

The results of the ultimate taste-off over the past three weekends between the Bahlsen Messino and the regular round Jaffa Cake revealed that 90 per cent of participants preferred the oblong Jaffa Cake. They commented on its more sophisticated taste and the oblong shape that allows the jam to be spread edge-to-edge.

During the sampling 30,000 Messinos and 12,500 discount vouchers were given to the public. With many using these vouchers to make future purchases after being bowled over by the taste of the oblong Jaffa Cakes.

These results prove the Bahlsen Messino is superior in taste and will go a long way to proving that the future of the Jaffa Cake is oblong!

Last weekend our intrepid oblongeers concluded their oblong Jaffa Cake tour at Europe’s leading retail and leisure destination Bluewater.

Amazingly, it did even better than previous sampling events at the Trafford Centre and thecentre:mk! With 90-95 per cent of the public preferring the oblong Bahlsen Messinos to the regular round Jaffa Cakes.

These findings will go a long way to helping people realise that oblong is the way forward, providing a taste that is unlike anything produced by the round Jaffas.

The turn-out at Bluewater was massive! This may have been down to a Sharon and Ozzy Osborne book signing; however, we at Jaffa Cake HQ, prefer to put this down to the amazing “buzz” surrounding the oblong Jaffa Cakes both in the media and among the public.

Once again thousands flocked to the Bahlsen Messino stand to feast on the treat and take part in the ultimate taste-off. While many used their money-off vouchers to purchase more of the oblong Jaffa Cakes at local supermarkets.

So, on reflection, we can feel pleased that the Bahlsen Messinos have managed to be exposed to three of the biggest shopping centres in the UK. After all this activity it can be concluded that people will start to realise the future of the Jaffa Cake is oblong!

But, this is not the end! Oh no! This is just the beginning, with the future of the Jaffa Cake looking more oblong by the minute and the Messino being at the forefront of this vision. Who knows, we may be coming to a shopping centre near you in the future?!

Until then purchase some Bahlsen Messinos and decide for yourself whether the future of the Jaffa Cake is oblong!

After enormous success at the Trafford Centre and thecentre:mk, the oblong Jaffa Cake tour will have its final event this weekend (3rd and 4th October) at Europe’s leading retail and leisure destination Bluewater.

Our intrepid oblongeers will, once again, be offering free samples of the Bahlsen Messinos, otherwise known as the oblong Jaffa Cakes, to the general public.

Based on the previous sampling events, a whopping 85 per cent preferred the taste of the Messino compared to its round counterpart, with these results set to continue this weekend at Bluewater.

The Messino has already conquered the North-West and Centre of England, and is now set to make residents of the South-East realise that the future of the Jaffa Cake is oblong!

As the tour winds down, it’s becoming clear that people are turning a corner and embracing the oblong Jaffa Cake! With our mission to promote all things oblong nearing completion.

Last weekend our intrepid oblongeers were at thecentre:mk to spread awareness of Bahlsen Messinos, otherwise known as the oblong Jaffa Cakes.

This week’s sampling activity was particularly apt considering the very square lay-out of Milton Keynes – an oblong haven!

Following the previous weekend’s enormous success at the Trafford Centre, it was going to be a hard task to improve at thecentre:mk; however, the oblong disciples somehow managed it!

During the ultimate taste-off between the regular round Jaffa Cakes and Bahlsen Messinos, more than 85 per cent of the public preferred the oblong Jaffa Cakes! Proving that when it comes down to taste oblong is the way forward!

People loved the Messinos and flocked to the stand feasting on a treat that is unlike something they’ve ever tasted before. They could not get enough of it and will almost certainly be using their money-off vouchers for future Messino purchases.

So, to the Bluewater shopping centre we go next weekend for more Messino sampling and taste-offs! Where more people will witness, and taste, first-hand the superiority of the mighty oblong Jaffa Cake!

The future of the Jaffa Cake will be oblong soon enough!

This weekend (26-27th September) the oblong Jaffa Cake tour will be at the centre:mk to tantalise the taste-buds of the public once more.

People will be able to sample the Bahlsen Messino, otherwise known as the oblong Jaffa Cake, as well as doing the ultimate taste-off against the round Jaffa Cake.

At the Trafford Centre 80 per cent preferred the oblong treat, will there be similar results at Milton Keynes?

Greeting the public will be our intrepid oblongeers and a large oblong Jaffa Cake that went down a storm in Manchester and is already gracing YouTube with his unique dance moves. What moves will it bust out this weekend?

The sampling and taste tests at the centre:mk will go a long way to shaping an oblong future for Jaffa Cakes and making people realise that the future is indeed oblong!

The first oblong Jaffa Cake event went down a storm at the Trafford Centre, as our intrepid oblongeers introduced the snack to the eager public.

Queues of people waited by the stand as free Messinos were handed out along with a money-off voucher for future oblong Jaffa Cake purchases.

Along with the oblongeers, there was a large oblong Jaffa Cake that greeted and entertained the public with some special dance moves.

During the event, people were encouraged to participate in a taste test comparing the Messinos with the regular round Jaffa Cakes. The results confirmed what we knew already, with 80 per cent preferring the taste of the oblong Jaffa Cakes.

The event was hailed a success, as people experienced first-hand why the oblong Jaffa Cakes are being constantly talked about and why the future is turning oblong.

To the next event at the Centre: MK, which promises to be just as, if not more, successful.

Tomorrow the oblong Jaffa Cake tour begins at the Trafford Centre, before moving onto the Centre: MK and Bluewater for the following two weekends.

As part of the oblong Jaffa Cake tour the general public will be able to sample the taste sensation that is the Bahlsen Messino, otherwise known as the oblong Jaffa Cake, as well as doing a taste test against the round Jaffas.

At these sampling events participants will be able to see for themselves why there has been so much media coverage and hype around the oblong Jaffa Cake, and why it’s emerging as the strongest competitor to the round Jaffas in recent years.

Much of the debate in recent weeks has centred on shape, but the sampling and taste tests will help the public realise that an oblong Jaffa Cake does lead to better taste and that the future is indeed oblong!

Today we will settle the eternal debate that’s been plaguing Jaffa Cake lovers for years. Is the beloved snack a cake or a biscuit?

There are arguments to both sides of the story, however, Bahlsen (makers of the oblong Jaffa Cake) can confirm that it is indeed a cake.

Bahlsen state that the soft spongy base and layer of orange covered in chocolate make the Jaffa Cake a cake and not a biscuit.

This statement is supported by the fact Jaffa Cakes go hard when they’re stale and have gone off (a cake quality), whereas biscuits go soft.

It’s hoped this statement will clear up the endless debates occurring on Twitter and other social media sites about the classification of Britain’s best loved biscuit…I mean cake!

The interviews went well, with both answering questions as to why the oblong Jaffa Cake is better than its round nemesis.

This focused on the taste and reasons why the oblong shape is better than a circle.

The latest interviews only serves to remind listeners that the oblong Jaffa Cake is growing in popularity, with many more people starting to latch onto the fact that the Jaffa Cake is better as an oblong!
